The Fall Red Thread Charities Equipment Drive was a success!!!  Thank you very much for your contribution to the children at Hangzhou Orphanage! The medical team brought walkers, bath chairs, special seats and orthopedics that were greatly needed!  Look at the Happy Faces of the children as they learn, grow and develop! It is all made possible through YOUR donations. The medical volunteers trained the orphanage staff on best uses for the equipment. And the children are thrilled with their new independence. Small things to us brings big smiles and help to the children in so many ways!

As Rachel Van Heels, Red Thread Charities Volunteer Physical Therapist wrote:

“I was blown away by the professionalism and competence exhibited by the Hangzhou rehab staff. This was my first trip to China with Red Thread Charities. I based my expectations for the trip on my colleague’s reports on where the Hangzhou staff was a year ago. In China I met a smart and dedicated group of women who had spent the past year making great gains in their clinical skills…

While walking between buildings, I repeatedly saw children out and confidently going about their business using crutches and walkers. Many of the kids were clearly accustomed to using their own adaptive equipment to get around the orphanage grounds independently. Returning volunteers remarked again and again how exciting it was to see those kids out going through their daily routines alongside their classmates.”

Thank you for embracing the mission of Red Thread Charities!

Happy New Year from Red Thread Charities!

The Year of the Rabbit was filled with many important events for the children and staff at Hangzhou Orphanage and Red Thread Charities.

The Year of the Dragon, arrives with excitement and anticipation.  The Dragon is thought to bring good fortune, harmony and longevity.  Red Thread Charities is planning great things for the Year of the Dragon for the children and staff at Hangzhou Orphanage.
